Rishi Kapoor had completed shooting for significant scenes of the movie, but due to lockdown, some portions were not shot. Both the producers are now committed to finishing the film as soon as possible by using massive technologies.

‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ movie shooting began in January 2020 in Delhi, and everything went smooth. The latter portion of the movie was scheduled for the shoot in March in Mumbai. Due to the sudden pandemic outbreak, all plans got cancelled, and the shoot was not completed. Amidst all this, Rishi Kapoor lost his life, leaving some parts of the movie incomplete.
Efforts to Complete the Movie
To complete the left parts of the movie, the team will be using VFX effects. The plan is to use newer advanced technologies combined with some unique techniques. They are also making sure that the quality of the movie is not compromised and working towards finding the best solution possible in the current time and situation.
The movie portrays the life of a sexagenarian who owns a business in Old Delhi. The protagonist realises the real joys of life after he gets retired, and after that, he gets introduced a new world altogether.
Hitesh Bhatia directs the movie. Rishi Kapoor’s last movie will also mark the debut of Hitesh Bhatia as a director. Not much has yet been revealed about this movie as of now. The directors and producers are working hard to get this movie to the theatres in every possible way.
Juhi Chawla, who is the female protagonist in the film ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ had previously released pictures of Rishi Kapoor and herself reading the script of the movie in December 2019. She also shared a post on her social media account that she felt devastated and saddened when got the news of Rishi Kapoor’s death. Juhi Chawla worked with Rishi Kapoor in other movies such as ‘Ghar Ghar ki Kahani’ and ‘Ghar ki Izzat’.
