IIFA 2019: The Winners and the Carpet Stunners: It was truly a star-studded night at SVP Stadium, Mumbai, where IIFA 2019 was held on Wednesday, September 18.
This was the 20th year of International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) and something to look forward to, apart from the winners, were the celebs who would rule the green carpet.
And we weren’t disappointed!
The Carpet Stunners
We were presented with a plethora of truly stunning fashion choices as one after the others, artists old and new, walked the Green Carpet.
One of the people who stood out the most was India’s favorite couple Deepika and Ranveer, both of whom showcased their unique style.
Deepika Padukone was seen in a purple gown with a long veil, that she carried with grace and Ranveer Singh made his own fashion statement in a grey suit with red embroidery and a red dupatta draped diagonally.
To complete the look, Ranveer fashioned a ponytail while Deepika wore long silver earrings.
Other stars that stunned us with their looks were Alia Bhatt, who wore a blush pink outfit and Sara Ali Khan, who looked straight out of a fairytale in her white princess gown.
Radhika Apte in an elegant yet chic white dress and Vicky Kaushal in his simple tuxedo were a sight for the sore eyes as well, and of course, Madhuri Dixit Nene,
with her stunning red dress and hoop earrings looked like the diva she really is.
‘Who let the dogs out?’
The night was still young and the IIFA 2019 green carpet was graced by beautifully dressed stars one after the other, including Preity Zinta, Nushrat Bharucha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Ayushmann, and Aparshakti Khurrana and Salman Khan.
But the one who stole the limelight was- a street dog!
Or at least that’s what a viewer had to say after a street dog made his way on the IIFA green carpet after Salman Khan, who was accompanied by his Dabangg 3 co-star and Mahesh Manjerekar’s daughter Saiee.
This successfully made the viewers and the netizens laugh as there was a flurry of comments on Instagram, ranging from “Awwww I hope no one throws him out” to “Who let the dogs out”.
The main event and the winners
The main event was hosted by the talented duo Ayushmann Khurrana and Aparshakti Khurrana (last seen in Jabariya Jodi).
The night was full with amazing performances by Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Sara Ali Khan, Loveyatri actor Aayush Sharma, and Madhuri Dixit Nene, who paid a tribute to Saroj Khan via her performance.
